Shipping policy

Last updated 2 October 2026  ·  IKITAI, operated by [ set BUSINESS.legalName in src/js/legal.js ]

Everything is dispatched from India and sent tracked. Because drops are printed to order, the clock starts when the drop closes, not when you pay.

When your parcel is dispatched

Printing begins the week after a drop's window closes. Every parcel in a run is dispatched together, so the ship-by date is the same for every person in that drop and is shown on the product page, at checkout and in your confirmation email.

If that date is missed, you are entitled to a full refund without asking for it. See Returns and refunds.

How long delivery takes after dispatch

  • India — 2 to 5 working days.
  • Rest of the world — 7 to 15 working days, plus any time the parcel spends in your country's customs.

These are the courier's estimates, not guarantees. The date IKITAI commits to is the dispatch date, because that is the part within its control.

Shipping charges

A single flat charge per market, shown in your currency before you pay and again in the cart. It is not calculated by weight and does not increase if you order more than one item. There is no free-shipping threshold — postage from India is a real cost and pretending otherwise would just mean burying it in the price of the garment.

Customs duties and import taxes on international orders

Parcels are sent from India. If you are outside India, your country may charge import duty, VAT or a handling fee before releasing your parcel. That charge is set by your government and collected by your courier. It is not included in the price you paid, IKITAI receives none of it, and it cannot be refunded by IKITAI.

It is mentioned here, in bold, because a surprise bill on the doorstep is the single most common way an international order goes wrong, and most stores leave it in a clause nobody reads.

Parcels are declared accurately at their real value. Under-declaring a parcel to reduce your duty is illegal and will not be done on request.

If you refuse a parcel because of a customs charge, it is treated as a return: the garment comes back at your cost and the cost of the original shipping is not refunded.

Where IKITAI ships

Worldwide, to every market shown in the currency selector. If your country is not listed, write in and ask — it is usually a question of whether the courier quotes a sane rate, not a policy.

Country of origin

All garments are made and printed in India. Fabric is milled and garments are cut, sewn and screen-printed in and around Tirupur, Tamil Nadu.

Tracking

A tracking number is emailed when your parcel is dispatched. If tracking has not updated for 10 working days, or shows delivered somewhere you are not, see Returns and refunds — a replacement or refund is issued without waiting for the courier's claim to finish.

Addresses

Parcels go to the address you type. Please check it before paying: once a label is printed the courier will not reroute it. An address can be corrected any time before dispatch by emailing preorder@ikitai.co, which on a preorder usually means you have weeks rather than hours.

A parcel returned because the address was wrong can be re-sent once postage is paid again.
